Wild meets mild

This morning, after letting Otis out for his morning constitution, Rocky called me to come downstairs quick. Just outside our fence, a white tailed doe was nervously eyeing Otis. Otis didn't seem to notice her. She took a step closer and Otis started jogging back to the house. As he hadn't finished his morning constitution, Rocky yelled at him to go. Otis ran back to the fence, near the doe. She took a few more steps near him, as if daring him to bark. He finally noticed her and looked back at us with a "Now what?" look. The 2 animals looked at each other briefly and then Otis decided it was time to return to the safety of the house. The doe casually walked away.

Just one of the many reasons I enjoy living in Montana and on the edge of town.
